Other Regiments

Other regiments sometimes camped near the 146th NY or fought side-by-side with them. Peter noted these regiments and described his interaction with their soldiers. Sometimes he compared the 146th's skills or service with theirs. He mentioned Colonel Corcoran's McMickeys and said they were a fine lot of soldiers as ever were. In his last letter, Peter reported that Burnside was marching to the front with 40 thousand men, including 10 thousand black troops.
